Tax deductibility

How to use your DGR receipt

VEAEA is endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR). Donations of $2 or more are fully tax-deductible for Australian taxpayers.

  1. 01
    Make your donation

Complete the form above. Your name and email are required to generate a compliant receipt.

  2. 02
    Receive your receipt by email

A DGR-compliant receipt is emailed immediately after payment. It includes a unique receipt number (e.g. VEAEA-2026-0001) and the donation amount in AUD.

  3. 03
    Keep it for tax time

Save the receipt email or PDF. The ATO may request it as evidence of your claim.

  4. 04
    Claim in your tax return

In your Australian tax return, declare the amount under Gifts or donations (Item D9 in the individual return). You do not need to attach the receipt — just keep it on file.

Not sure if you're eligible? Most Australian residents who pay income tax can claim donations to DGR-endorsed organisations. Visit ato.gov.au or speak to your tax agent.
