SafeGuide is VEAEA's free, multilingual harm-reduction guide: plain-language information on 17 substances in 36 languages, open in any browser or installed on your phone like an app. It's live at app.veaea.org/harm-reduction, and we've just rebuilt it.

What's new

  • Live Victorian drug alerts. The latest warnings — substances found to contain something unexpected or dangerous — now have their own page, one tap away, sourced directly from the Victorian Pill Testing Service (VPTS). When something new comes in, a marker shows up so you know to look.
  • One clear menu. Drug alerts, ambient sound, drug-testing info and the emergency call button, all in one place instead of scattered across the screen.
  • The combination checker works everywhere. Check how two substances interact on any phone, tablet or desktop.

What it does

  • Plain-language guides to 17 substances — effects, dosing, interactions, warning signs. No moralising, no scolding.
  • A drug-combination checker.
  • A one-tap emergency call to 000.
  • Reads in 36 languages, installs to your home screen, and works offline. Always free.

Free, anonymous drug checking

SafeGuide also points to Victoria's free, legal and anonymous drug checking service — where you can have pills, powders, crystals or liquids tested before you use, with no identifying information collected. Tap the menu for the details: the fixed site at 95 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy (Thursday to Saturday), plus mobile sites at festivals across the state. It's run by the Victorian Pill Testing Service.

If you or someone you're with is in trouble, call 000. Otherwise, open SafeGuide.
