D'Ni57er Universe — NPP Origin Story — The No Powders Party as Shabbat Technology — Full Comic Script and Canon Text
✦ · PART FIVE · THE TECHNOLOGY · ✦
Panel 12
The Merkavah in Shabbat drift mode — engines dark, drifting silently through Beriah space. Concentric rings of music-as-light emanating from its hull. Below it, small, an NPP room — same concentric rings emanating upward from the crowd. The two images mirror each other. Above and below. The same geometry. Different scale. The caption closes the loop.
SHABBAT The Merkavah engines cut.
The crew rests.
The drift begins.
Zero fiat burn.
Maximum nitzotz charge.
=
NPP The grey static is refused.
The room rests into the music.
The drift begins.
No counterfeit fuel.
All sparks rise free.
Narrator The No Powders Party is not a prohibition. It is not sobriety culture, recovery culture, or a moral position about substances. It is a precision instrument. A technology for accessing a specific state — the drift state, the Shabbat state, the Yetzirah-open state — through the body's own machinery, without introducing a husk that traps the spark inside the frequency instead of letting it ascend through it.
Narrator Shabbat is the same technology at the scale of the week. Every Friday at sundown, the Merkavah engines cut. The crew enters the drift state by declaration — not by chemistry. The world does not require their pushing for twenty-five hours. They rest. The sparks rise. The Tikkun advances.
Narrator The NPP makes this available to a room of strangers on a Friday night who have never heard of Shabbat and never will. The technology doesn't require the name. It only requires the container: no grey static, real music, present bodies, open door.
Panel 13
Back on the roof. Dawn now, properly. The Melbourne skyline in early light. D'Ni57er standing, back to the viewer, looking at the city. Payot visible. Chain catching the first light. White tee under the black. Bagel standing beside him — also looking at the city. Both of them just looking. The Merkavah is the building underneath their feet. The engines are always on. Except when they're not. Except on Shabbat. Except at NPP.
D'Ni57er "Churchill asked why fund the arts during the war. Someone answered for him: 'Then what are we fighting for?'"
D'Ni57er "The Chol — the grinding week — the fiat engine burning, the legal filings, the building, the court appearances, the early mornings — that is the war. The NPP night, the Shabbat, the drift — that is what we are fighting for."
D'Ni57er "The powder can't give you this. It gives you a private universe when you need a shared one. It gives you a ceiling when you need an opening. It gives you the feeling of this — without the this."
D'Ni57er "No Powders. Not because the powder is evil. Because this is better. Because this is the real thing and why would you choose the counterfeit when you can have the real thing."

Canon status of the NPP in the D'Ni57er universe
The No Powders Party is designated Shabbat technology, secular deployment. Each event is logged in the Navigational Computer as a Netzach-Assiyah mission: Tikkun protocol. Sparks uplifted at each event are counted. The count contributes to the overall Tikkun mission arc. VEAEA is the institutional vehicle for NPP events — providing arts infrastructure, music, and the sacred container. The Shin hyperdrive (music) is the operational engine. The Aleph drive (beginning) initiates each event. The mission closes when the last person leaves with their spark measurably freer than when they arrived.
In Issue 3, the NPP will be formally registered as a movement within the D'Ni57er universe when the first non-Melbourne NPP event occurs — signalling that the technology has escaped its origin and is now self-replicating. This is designated: the Messianic prototype goes portable.
